Netscape Navigator Certificate Chain Download Instructions

Before you can use your digital certificate, you must install the Root Certificate Chain in your Netscape browser. Print this page, and then click the link at the bottom of this page to install the Root Certificate Chain in your browser.

Follow these instructions as you navigate through each window.

Window and beginning dialog text	Action
1. "You are about to go through the process of accepting a Certificate Authority..."	1. Click Next.
2. "A Certificate Authority certifies the identity of sites on the internet...	1. Click Next.
3. "Here is the certificate for this Certificate Authority..."	1. Click Next.
4. "Are you willing to accept this Certificate Authority...?"	1. Place checks in all three boxes. 2. Click Next.
5. "By accepting this Certificate Authority, you have told Netscape..."	1. Click Next. (Do NOT check the box)
6. "You have accepted this Certificate Authority. Please enter a short name.."	1. In the "Name:" box, type DST Root CA X2 2. Click Finish.
	The Root Certificate Chain installation is complete!
	Click the "Back" button and continue with your application.

Click here to install the Federal Employee (X2-X6-A1) Root Certificate Chain (Netscape PKCS#7).

Click here to install the Business Representative (X2-X6-A2) Root Certificate Chain (Netscape PKCS#7).

Click here to install the Unaffilitate Individual (X2-X6-A3) Root Certificate Chain (Netscape PKCS#7).

Click here to install the X2-X2A Root Certificate Chain (for NTIS Only) (Netscape PKCS#7).

Warning, to protect the identity of ACES certificate holders, only the certificate holder should be using the digital certificate. Allowing others to use your certificate through sharing your password, passphrase or private key weakens the security of the system and presents a security danger to the certificate holder. Those certificate holders found to have shared this confidential information will be notified that their certificates can be revoked.
